General
Info
The
Sabin Rescue Squad was founded in 1980. It is composed of volunteers from the
Sabin area. There are presently fifteen members. These caring individuals are
dedicated to assisting those with medical emergencies. The Sabin Rescue Squad is
a “first responder” unit. This means they are first on the scene to stabilize
the patient(s) and prepare the patient(s) for transport via F-M Ambulance or
Barnesville Ambulance. Meetings are the first Thursday of every month with
training every month.
Training
The
Sabin Rescue Squad requires continued training and yearly re-certification to
keep their skills sharp. Training on a variety of situation and/or
instruments is held after every meeting. These situations and instruments
include vehicular accidents, diabetic reactions, heart conditions/attacks, AED,
blood pressure cuffs, stethoscopes, child birth, breathing obstructions,
combi-tubes, broken bones, splints, hyper and hypothermia, blunt force trauma,
immobilization, long boards, c-collars, ked boards, bleeding control and the
list goes on and on. Seminars and advanced training are offered from a variety
of sources such as F-M Ambulance, MeritCare, Barnesville Ambulance, the
internet, etc. All may be attended at no additional cost to the member
with board approval. Our monthly training is provided by Bob Klein from F-M
Ambulance.
